The What Would Seth Godin Do Plugin is one of the reasons I got hooked on Wordpress. It showed me the easy to add marketing plugins that exist. Before Wordpress everything seemed a struggle.
WWSGD to its friends provides a way to show different messages to new and returning visitors. So you can change the message you give. The video gives you some ideas of how to use this plugin.
There are more advanced plugins of this type but it is a great start.
